Faster Immigration through E-gates in Airports

The Union Home Minister of India Mr. Amit Shah has recently inaugurated the 'Fast Track Immigration - Trusted Traveller Programme' (FTI-TTP) at terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport. This program will enable the pre-verified Indian Nationals and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) cardholders, flying in from abroad to clear immigration faster by walking through e-gates or automated border gates that are to be installed at 8 major international airports and 13 more eventually across the nation. 


Key points:

a. In this program, the applicants will need to provide Biometrics (fingerprint and face image) and required to fill necessary data fields as mentioned in the application form.

b. The applicants enrolling for the program will also need to upload essentials documents like scanned copy of passports, proof of present address and others. Indian Airport Finds a Place in the Top 10 Busiest Airports List

2023-24 has so far been a super busy time period for air passengers as they are flying in record numbers across various parts of the world. According to a recent report in Times Of India, the Airports Council International (ACI) World, an international organisation that evaluates airport standards, has ranked Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in the 10th position among the busiest airports globally in 2023.

DGCA Issues Directive for Children

The latest directive issued by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) states that children aged 12 years and below will be required to seat alongside at least one of their parents/guardians travelling under the same PNR. At the time of bookings, it is required to identify passenger type as 'Child' to ensure proper seat allocation. New UAE Travel Advisory

As per a recent report from Indigo, passengers who are travelling to UAE are need to carry the following documents or they will be denied boarding at the departure airport.

  • Passport with min 6 months validity from the day of depart.

  • Confirmed return ticket

  • Proof of hotel reservation

  • Sufficient funds to cover expenses in UAE
